December is a magical time in New York, which is one reason that we love to visit this time of the year. Not sure how to spend a day in the city? Window decorations, holiday markets, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Broadway matinees, and the iconic Rockefeller Center are just some of the attractions guaranteed to put you in the holiday mood. This is the last year for the restaurants at Rock Center so if you want to enjoy The Sea Grill, Rock Center Café or Cucina & Co., now’s the time; they’ll all be gone after this year.

A scenic overview of the hustle and bustle of the holidays at night beneath the magnificent tree in Rockefeller Center.

Love to shop? The brand new Nordstrom Flagship store at 57th and Columbus Circle guarantees you a shopping experience that you will not find in the DMV! Bloomies, Macy’s and other stores are terrific as well. Many of these stores will ship your packages home which means, no lugging them throughout the day.

As she is a former NYC resident, will lead you by foot and train to locales including Dylan’s Candy Bar on the Upper East, Levain Bakery on the Upper West, Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, Ferrera’s in Little Italy, and Sugar Sweet Sunshine on the Lower East Side! (Unlimited metro card plus desserts will cost roughly $75.) Don’t worry about the calories – you’re sure to burn them off!
