The Maxwell’s Playbook Event Series has been amazing. Our brunches have a bit of a party vibe, with time to meet and greet in a positive and supportive environment. We have a great meal followed by a speaker who talks about a topic that connects to our purpose – to elevate women’s personal development with strategies that will enhance their lives.
Discussions have focused on why your girl-squad is crucial, knowing your true self-worth, visioning your year ahead, and how to develop an intentional brand. We’ve heard from experts on how to achieve financial success through life changes, and how to hold onto the wealth that you create. There are always surprises…and mimosas!
Beyond brunches, we’ve had fun at private shopping parties with the latest fashions, accessories, and home decor.
We were excited to host the ageless, fit and fashionable Dr. Josefina Monasterio, a 73-year old bodybuilder, author, TV host, and life coach! Dr. Josefina kicked off the day by leading over 70 women in an exercise routine and gave an inspirational presentation on how to build the determination, discipline, and energy to reach your potential. She definitely proved that your chronological age is not the defining factor in your well-being! Of course, we had food….and pop-up shopping! It was a fantastic morning!
We’re Boss Babes!
We work to highlight and promote the things that our women are doing. At the end of one season, we lined up something special for the group. We had heard from excellent speakers over several months. Still, I really wanted our women to hear from each other about what they were doing. They are involved in careers, as entrepreneurs, volunteers, and in other activities, and we wanted to give those who were interested, a chance to do an “elevator pitch” for the crowd.
During the brunch each woman who chose to, pitched her project. What no one knew is that Maxwell’s Playbook had taken a page from Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres. After everyone finished, we gave each of them something to help them elevate what they were working on. We helped to fund space and activities for the woman who was creating activities for children with with special needs. We gave supplies to the clothing designer, and a really cool auction item to help with fundraising for women and children. We also paired our women with experts outside the group who could mentor them or offer career advice or other guidance.
Through activities and events, Maxwell’s Playbook brings together a terrific community of women and gives them tools and encouragement to live their best life. I’m so proud of them all.
For women in the Northern Virginia/Washington metro area, I invite you to watch this space and be a part of the fun. There is so much that we can do together!
